What is the difference between the simulator and the real system?

The Simulator plays the role of the interoperability partner, while the System Under Test is the implementation whose conformance and interoperability are being assessed.

The Simulator is mainly used during the preparatory phase of an interoperability event to simulate a testing partner whereas the System Under Test is the system tested during the event.
